    Tell Me Show Me

From September 2003 there was an addition to the practical driving test named Tell Me Show Me

Candidates will be asked two questions, one "Show me" and one "Tell me". One or both questions answered incorrectly will result in one driving fault being recorded. More than 15 minor faults would result in the candidate failing the test so it is important to learn them.

Listed below are some examples of the new safety checks for cars:

    Tell me . . .
    • Open the bonnet, identify where you would check the engine oil level and Tell me how you would check that the engine has sufficient oil.

Using your own car

Don"t forget you must display Red Learner Pates on your car before you pass your test.

After passing your test you may also wish to display Green P plates (Provisional) for a short while. This helps people see that you are a new driver and give you a little more consideration whilst you build up your confidence driving without your instructor. You can obtain cheap L and P plates online.
